Val M Deeds

Valeria Mae Deeds, MiMi, age 82,  passed away in her hometown of Springfield CO, surrounded by her family on Monday, November 27, 2017. Val was born on June 3, 1935, in Springfield Colorado to Eva (Harbert) and Orville Venter. She grew up with her four siblings: Juanita, Jack, Don, and Marvin.  Val attended Springfield High School.  On December 28th, 1951 she married the love of her life Guy Deeds Jr.  Together, they had three sons: Richard, Ronald, and Randal.  Guy and Val enjoyed working beside each other on the family farm and ranch.  They also enjoyed spending time with all 8 of their grandchildren.  Val had a deep love for all her children and grandchildren and devoted her life to caring for and nurturing her family. Val was a saved Christian and loved to worship through music.  Val was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Eva; her siblings: Juanita, Jack, and Marvin; and son Randy. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Guy; two sons and their wives: Ron (Carla) Deeds and Rick (Launa) Deeds; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and brother Don Venter. Family, friends, and others whose lives Val touched are invited to attend her funeral service at Maltbie Funeral Services, 265 W 8th Ave. Springfield CO 81073,   starting at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 30, 2017, to celebrate her life.  As an expression of sympathy, the family recommends memorial contributions be given to the SECHD Long Term Care Center in Val's memory. Contributions may be mailed to 373 E.10th Ave. Springfield, CO 81073 or by way of the funeral home.
