Vaden Jay Chandler was born on June 8, 1980 to Jerry and Glenna (Sniff) Chandler. Eagerly awaiting his arrival were his sisters Neoma Kay and Wray Jean. Vaden passed away April 14, 2024 in Panhandle, Texas at the age of 43.

Vaden lived most of his life in his hometown of Springfield, Colorado where he attended school, graduating with the class of 1999. He was an avid reader and collected comic books, coins and baseball cards and enjoyed playing Nintendo, one of the first generations to do so! He loved to watch sports with his dad and was a loyal Broncos fan. He had a passion for, and the ability to retain facts. He could recite the Bible, share the stats of any sports figure, and give you quirky little unknown details about past Presidents!

He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Adams State College in 2007. This career led him to explore the country and satisfy his passion to travel and wander. He studied and received his degree in Theology from Liberty University in 2013. He was a youth leader in local churches, and loved sharing his knowledge of the Bible. He continued his education by earning his English Language Learning Certificate and taught the English language online. He also enjoyed serving and pastoring his many friends, here and overseas. He had a passion for learning and had a unique, complicated, brilliant mind.

Vaden loved to express himself through poems and stories and finally began his writing career as a marketing researcher for numerous products and topics. He fulfilled his longtime dream of writing his own novels and was working on his fifth novel about the Apostle Paul. He has been quoted as saying, “It’s a nice little break from all the plumbing and personal injury articles!”

Vaden loved music of all genres. He would often send a “clip” of a song or lyrics to people as a way of brightening their day or helping someone cope in some way. His extrovert personality allowed Vaden to be an accomplished speaker and he was not shy in the slightest. He couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket, but that never stopped him from singing or attempting to dance!

Vaden married Cheryl Chapman on October 22, 2016 and they created many memories together, traveling, and supporting each other through good times and bad.

Vaden was taken from us suddenly due to a car accident, returning home from church. He had a good day, and spent his last hours in fellowship with his church family and celebrating his faith.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Vaden leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Cheryl of Panhandle, Texas, his stepson Kevin (Kim) Swafford and their son Davy of Borger, Texas; stepdaughter Jamie (Nathan) Cranfill and son Gage of Fritch Texas; Sisters Neoma Wait and Wray Jean (Todd) Rose of Springfield, Colorado; and nephews Ian Pless, Dillon (Lacey) Rose and Matthew (Megan) Rose of Springfield, Colorado; and brother in laws, Dr. Ken (Lynn) Chapman and daughters, Brianna Chapman of Chicago, Illinois and Sophia Chapman of Uganda, Africa; Dr. John (Doris) Chapman and daughter, Natalie Chapman of Sacramento, California.
