Thelma Christene Arbuthnot went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 29th, 2025. Thelma was born on March 14th, 1940, in Cassville, Missouri, to Chester and Glenna (Ryan) Moore. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on the 16th of March 1950, at the age of 10.
Thelma was united in marriage to John Virgil Arbuthnot on July 20th, 1958, in Springfield, Colorado. In this union, four children were born. Tammy, Sherri, Gina, and Duke.
The family moved to Cassville, Missouri, in 1971, where Thelma worked at the Cassville hospital in the medical records department. She loved the Lord and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school.
The family moved back to Springfield, Colorado, in 1983, where Thelma worked in medical records as a medical transcriptionist for Dr. Manalo.
Thelma always enjoyed rocking and spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids. Thelma was a very loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an awesome cook and baker. Thelma was an avid reader. She loved mystery novels.
Surviving are her 3 daughters Tammy Mizer and her husband Charles of Cassville, Missouri; Sherri Russow and her husband Craig of Washburn, Missouri; Gina Martin and her husband Reid of Springfield, Colorado; 1 sister Mary Lasley and her husband Ted: 1 brother Jim Moore and his wife Teri; 8 grandchildren, Shawn Alley (Amanda); Trever Mizer (Sunnie); Aaron Mizer; Brandon Alley (Samantha); Dustin Martin; Brittney Martin; Dillon Alley; Christian Arbuthnot (Jordan). 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by 3 sisters-in-law Laura Wessler, Bonnie Arbuthnot and Jackie Packard, 2 brothers-in-law Curtis Arbuthnot and his wife Bonna and Red Edens.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Virgil Arbuthnot; her beloved son, Johnny Duke Arbuthnot; and her granddaughter, Leah Rene Mizer. Parents Chester and Glenna Moore; Father and Mother-in-Law Virgil and Linnie Arbuthnot; one sister, Nina Edens; 3 brothers, Bill Moore, Joe Moore, and Lonnie Moore. 3 sisters-in-law Eunice Moore, Marge Moore and Katie Moore. 4 brothers-in-law Melvin Wessler, Billy Arbuthnot, Leonard Packard and Charles Cox; and our dear family friend, Paula.
Thelma was loved by her family and many friends, who were like family. She will be dearly missed by all.
