Patricia was born March 18, 1947 in Ontario, Oregon, the youngest daughter of Howard and
Evelyn Casebolt of Weiser, Idaho. When Pat was six, the family moved to Cheraw, Colorado
where she attended school and graduated in 1965.
In 1964, she met Gary Crane at a basketball game; and they were married after Pat graduated
high school in June 26, 1965. This blessed union produced four children: Angela, Steven, Mark
and Lisa. Pat and Gary farmed and raised livestock for a living; and she was the ultimate farm
wife. Even before she had her own children, she was a ‘Mother to Many’ including their first
“litter” the much loved Becky, Keith and Rachel Baldridge. The Crane children were known as
the second “litter”. Pat was an active Baca County 4H leader, leading Macrame and Sewing
clubs. And, their rural home was well known for youth church groups on Sunday nights. Her
leadership continued as a Sunday School teacher and member of Trinity Church in Springfield.
Pat’s kitchen table was a mecca of activity, always abuzz with fellowship and nourishing food.
Her grandkids knew that stopping into GHOP “Grandma’s House of Pancakes” guaranteed
them a hearty breakfast before a day of chores. Pat loved her family, and she loved her golden
retriever dogs, flower and vegetable gardens and especially, South Baca basketball. Her stat
taking ability at ballgames was legendary!
Pat is survived by her beloved husband, Gary, of the home; children Steven (Christi) Crane;
Mark (Jennelle) Crane; and Lisa Packard all of Pritchett and special nephew Jerry (Janiene)
Casebolt of Sterling; and grandchildren Caleb (Ciarra) Yocam, Matthew (Randi) Crane, Brooklyn
(Austin) Batterton, Kate (Bradon)Trepp, Morgan Crane, Micah Crane, Patience (Michael) Crane,
Libby Ross, Wyatt Packard, Ryder Ross and Wyler Packard and great-granddaughters Rista
Batterton, Adalyn Batterton, Hazel Trepp and Hallie Trepp.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Franka Lee Casebolt, brother Jerry Casebolt
Sr.; and infant daughter Angela.
