Opal M. Brinkley was born on October 25, 1927, at Campo, Colorado to Isaac M. Ketterman and Sylvia Hiner Keterman. Opal passed from this life on October 20, 2022, at Life Care of Andover in Andover, Kansas. On November 15, 1944, she married Camett L. (Doc) Brinkley. After C.L.’s death on December 14, 1986, Opal moved to Wichita and was employed at various jobs. Her final employer was at Globe Engineering where she worked until she retired at age 80 in 2007. She was a member of Glenville Baptist Church, Wichita, KS.
Opal is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, a daughter, Pamela Jean; a granddaughter, Kyla Griffith; a son in law, Richard Brown; two grandsons, Billy Brown and Curtis Brown; and 3 brothers, Claud, Kenneth and Ray.
She is survived by three daughters, Carlene (Jack) Griffith, Sharon (Chuck) Wright, and Lila Brown; grandchildren, Debra (Robert) Barratt, David (Kristi) Griffith; Sharla (John) McIver; Melanie Wright, Heather Wright, and Paul Brown; 20 great grandchildren, and 23 great-great grandchildren.
A time of Visitation will be held Friday, October 28, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. (MDT) at Maltbie Funeral Services, 265 W. 8 th Avenue, Springfield, CO. A graveside service will be Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. (MDT) Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, CO.
