God gently took the hand of LouEllen Maxine McVey, and guided her to her heavenly home on August 26, 2020.  After 92 years, Lou’s last ledger sheet was balanced and her earthly work was complete.  She was born August 22, 1928, in Piedmont, Oklahoma, to Albert and Alice (Sandefur) Luschen.  She was determined and successful in her many life accomplishments, but she considered the blessing of motherhood of her three children, Larry Nyle, Penelope Ann, and Daniel

Albert to be her greatest achievement.  She was preceded in death by her parents; step-dad, Bill Lookabaugh; and her only sister, Alberta (Luschen) Dunivan.  In addition to her children, she is survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lou often recited her favorite quote by Ira F. Stanphill, “Many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand:  But I know who holds tomorrow, And I know who holds my hand.”  This inspired Lou’s determination to live a life well on Earth, be a steady rock for her family, and to be reassured in knowing her Heavenly Father would be at her side.

A celebration service honoring the life of Lou will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Springfield, Colorado, with Pastor Kenny Bryan presiding.  Burial services will follow at the Springfield Cemetery.  Before Monday’s service, visitation will be at the Maltbie Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The family would like to express gratitude for your thoughtfulness and kindness in honoring our precious mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Memorials may be made to the Assembly of God Church.
