Kenneth Lee Shaw was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He left this world on September 20, 2023, at age 90. Kenneth was born in Boise City, Oklahoma to Gerard (Gerry) and Martha (Hamm) Shaw on November 29, 1932. He had two brothers, James and Lester. He grew up south of Campo and went to Bethal School where he was the only student in a one room schoolhouse. He later went to school and graduated from Campo High School; there he met the love of his life, Wilma Harbert. Kenneth married Wilma in Clayton, New Mexico on December 6, 1951. Kenneth was drafted into the Army on August 13, 1952. He was assigned to be a cook at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver, Colorado. While there he had the privilege to cook and serve President Dwight D. Eisenhower a meal. While in the Army Kenneth received a National Service Medal. He was discharged from active duty on January 26, 1955; and served six years in the Army Reserves. Kenneth returned to the family farm and over the years had various jobs in the Campo area, Baca County District 2, working for Lydell Bryan, Campo Alcohol Plant, Campo School District and Jenkins Pilot Car Service. Kenneth and Wilma had two sons, Norman Shaw born November 5, 1952, and Steve Shaw born on July 2, 1966. Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife Wilma Shaw; his parents, Gerard and Martha Shaw; his siblings, James and Lester Shaw; granddaughter, Kendra Shaw and great granddaughter, Katilina Shaw. He is survived by his sons, Norman and his wife Lois Shaw, and Steve and his wife, Dawn Ann Shaw; grandchildren, Kristy, Trever, Jill, Jessica, and Zachary; ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and numerous nephews and nieces.
