Jimmie Lee Moore

Jimmie Lee Moore was born September 22, 1963, to Roy and Kay Moore in Muskogee, Oklahoma and departed this life on October 21,2021.

From Muskogee the family moved to Tahlequah, Oklahoma where they resided for 5 years, with Jim going to Sequoia Elementary for Kindergarten to 4 ^th grade. Then he was moved to Eads, going to 5 ^th grade there. 6 ^th grade through 8 ^th grade was done with Wiley, Colorado. He then ended up in Springfield for the remainder of high school. He graduated in 1981.

Jim married only once to Julie Burke. Together they had one daughter Rachel. They soon divorced but Jim stayed active in his daughter's life

Jim then helped raise his daughter while still active in martial arts and later became an instructor for the Springfield area. He taught Rachel martial arts in.the living room while she was growing up.

His main passion was fishing, camping and boating. Most weekends you would find him at Two Buttes, Turks Pond, or Fritzler's pond fishing for that BIG one or at least bigger than anyone fishing with him. If you knew his fishing habits, you knew you couldn't be within 50 yards on either side of him or you were encroaching on his ideal spot. He would let you know if you were too close too. He also entered the fishing tournaments that were held at Two Buttes Lake. Anytime it came to going to the lake everyone wanted to ride in his vehicle. At the time his choice of music was liked by the kids. When not fishing on the weekend he was at home watching NASCAR. Jimmy Johnson #48 was his favorite driver.

He also enjoyed getting together with Woller and friends to play paintball. Rachel got involved in paintball with them and the very first time she played she shot her own toe.

Fourth of July was his favorite holiday. He would pitch in money every year," The BIGGER the better" he would always say. Halloween was a good time too. He liked to scare his sister Peggy, because it was easy to do. If you wanted to scare Him just throw a fake snake at him. That probably was the only thing he was afraid of.

While Rachel was growing up, he would take her and all her friends out either dragging main or out to devils to ride. A couple of times he took Rachel and Brittney on the back roads so they could drive.

The day his first granddaughter, Lizzy was born he was up at the hospital pacing back and forth in front of the door. Everyone was surprised that there wasn't a walking path left by him, "he kept asking if Rachel was ok". In the end all was well and he was then a grandpa.

Jim was employed with several business in Springfield. He worked at Traders Grocery Store for Gene Dunlap for many years. Taking care of the produce aisle was a thing of pride for Jim. No wimpy fruits or vegetables on his watch. He then went to work for Robin's Redi Mix and then to Bruce's Shamrock. He delivered propane and fixed tires or whatever needed to be done to accomplish that day. Later he subcontracted for SECP and ran his own meter reading company M&S METERS. His current job was working for Dee as a US Postal service rural route carrier.

Jim made many good friends along his journey. He was the type of guy that if you needed help, he would do his darndest to help. He will be missed by all who knew him

After falling ill Jim gave up his fight in Colorado Springs at UC memorial Hospital at the age of 58.

Jim was preceded in death by his grandmother Virginia Bussell; his father Roy Lee Moore; his mother Virginia kay Thatcher, a brother William LeeRoy Moore and nephew Tyler James Spell.

He is survived by his daughter Rachel (William) Hare; Sister's, Peggy (Randy) Spell, Wanda (Ernest) Holland; Brother, Donnie Thatcher; nephews and nieces. Also, his 9 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emilia Garcia, James Moore, Braxton, Kaydence, Julian, Erin, Colleen, Emily Hare, and many more family and friends.

The Jimmie Moore Memorial Fund has been set up at Community State Bank, 1301 Main Street, Springfield, CO 81073.
