Jenny Sue Woods Bishop, age 71 of Amarillo, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 19, 2020. She was born in Borger, Texas on February 2, 1949 to Bill Woods and Maxine Hildreth. Jenny loved to be outside and was mostly a tomboy growing up. She loved mud puddles and fishing with her daddy. She enjoyed her time at the swimming pool, diving off of the high dive and lifeguarding.
Jenny married Richard (Dick) Bishop on December 31, 1970 in Clayton, New Mexico. The have three children Dani, Danha and Doug. There were several others that Jenny loved like her own, Kurt and Jenetta Baxter and their two children, Kenlie and Bronson; plus many others too many to list. She worshiped her beautiful grandchildren Colton, Sutton, Wil, Daryn, and Owen and her two great granddaughter's Lauren and Penelope.
Jenny and Dick spent their married life living in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. Jenny did a lot of volunteer work and raised the kids while Dick was the breadwinner. Along the way, they made many lifelong friends, they call family. Jenny wasn't an ordinary homemaker; to her it was her job and she took it very seriously and enjoyed it. She was very family driven and took care of everyone she loved. Jenny never met a stranger and there wasn't anyone she wouldn't help.
Jenny enjoyed working in her yard and took great pride in the details. She looked forward to her time at the gym with her dear friend Edith and many other friends. If she wasn't exercising at the gym, she was walking around her neighborhood but always on the go. She savored the times she was able to spend with her grandkids; pedicures, zip lining, miniature golf were some of the many things she would do; but really came down to being with them and listening to them talk about their daily activities. Colton for one, called her every time he got into his car and she always had the patience to entertain him to his destination. She always put the needs of others before hers and on a whim would do something kind; from baking someone's favorite goodies to sewing something special. In her final days she was working on a super hero cape for her great granddaughter, Penelope. She would go at the drop of a hat to take care of someone. When Daryn had ankle surgery or to watch one of her grandchildren compete; like Owen playing baseball. She attended Sutton's graduation from Army boot camp at Fort Benning, Georgia with tears of pride. She never missed a thing. Jenny loved to spend time with her two sisters, Karen and Karla. They took many vacations together and probably had way too much fun; but, they were more than sisters to her, they were her best friends.
Jenny is survived by her loving husband Dick Bishop of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Dani (Mark) Walker of Spotsylvania, VA; their children, Colton Catron of Lusby, MD; Sutton Walker, his daughters Lauren and Penelope of Sapulpa, OK; daughter Dahna (Alan) Shirling and their son Wil of Parker, CO; son, Doug (Jacinda) Bishop and their children Daryn and Owen of Rio Rancho, NM. Sister, Karen (Allan) Rigaud of Bastrop, Tx; sister, Karla Parker of Borger, TX. Brother-in-law Larry (Anita) Bishop of Springfield, CO. Jenny has many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and friends that will miss her terribly.
