Hobert Dewayne Estep was born November 18, 1947, in Littlefield, Texas. He passed away June 2, 2019, at his home in Springfield, Colorado at the age of 71. He was the oldest of six children born to Dewayne and Lorene Estep. He worked on farms, driving tractors and harvest trucks while growing up.  He completed 12 years of High School and graduated from Springfield High in 1966. A few years after high school, Hobert was drafted into the Army and went to Vietnam from 1968-1970, where he was a door gunner on a helicopter. After he was discharged from the Army he went to work in Amarillo, Texas for Bell Helicopter.

In 1972 he married Shirley Phillips and in 1947 they were blessed with a son, Shannon Dewayne Estep. After their divorce, Hobert met and married Evelyn Willhite on March 10, 1991. At that time he also gained two daughters; Deelinda and Christie. Hobert and Evelyn started driving semis for R&R Trucking Company in Joplin, Missouri. They were contracted to the Military during Desert Storm. They had two miniature Pinchers that rode the truck with them, B.A. & Rowdy.

When Hobert and Evelyn retired from trucking, they started Foster Care in Johnson, Kansas. They won Awards for their excellent work and care of troubled kids. Hobert was baptized on May 9, 2011, in Johnson Kansas at the Victory Apostolic Church. Hobert’s hobbies were: hunting, fishing and playing bingo. He and his brothers started going on an annual fishing trip to Lake Texhoma in 2015. Hobert and Evelyn moved to Springfield, Colorado in October of 2017.

Hobert is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Parents, Wife Evelyn, and Son Shannon. He is survived by his Brothers; Johnnie (Cherry) Estep, Radford (Brenda) Estep, Hoyt (Jodell) Estep, Sisters: Elaine Barber and Patty (Darrel) Caddick, Daughters: Deelinda Anderson and Christie (Steve) Taff, Five Grandsons; Blayne (Becka) Mady, Billie (Whitney)Taff, Deven Taff, Payton (Carla) Taff, Jayden Taff; Four Granddaughters; Bayley Mady, Wendy Fry, Lacey Tuz, and Jenny Tuz, Eight Great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
