Gloria Joyce Traver

Gloria Traver was born on November 30th, 1934 in Gorman, Texas, and went home to be with the Lord on November 20th, 2017 at the Cottage at SECH, in Springfield, Colorado at the age of 82 after a 3 year battle with dementia. Gloria was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. After meeting Paul Traver while he was stationed at FT. Bragg in North Carolina, they became united in marriage in 1963. As a military family, they were blessed to be stationed in many places including Alaska, New Mexico, and Turkey among others. In 1979 Gloria received an accommodation from the Dept. of the Army for her the outstanding manner in which she coordinated the White Sands Missile Range International Year of the Child. In 1981 Gloria received an accommodation from the Dept. of the Army for her work as a Community Service volunteer with Youth Activities, in the Post Chapel, the Parent-Teacher-Student Association, and with the Parent Advisory Council.  Gloria surrendered her life to Jesus Christ and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit while attending Marina 1st Assembly of God in Marina, California near Fort Ord, where they were stationed in the mid 70's.  Gloria is survived by her husband of 54 years, Paul Traver Jr,  her daughter Patricia Harris and Larry Harris, her son Donald Paulson and Mary Paulson, her daughter Deborah Darnell, her son Paul Traver III and Lori Traver, and her son George Traver and Celestina Traver, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister Virginia Collins, and her brother Robert Darnell and Renee Darnell. She is preceded in death by her mother Marcella Darnell and her father Robert Lester Darnell. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Gloria Traver memorial fund at the People's Credit Union (1301 Main St, Springfield, CO, 81073). Funds will be used for a memorial gift to "The Cottage".
