Gavin Freddie Barnes was born on October 5, 2000, in Johnson City, Kansas. Gavin lost his life on early Sunday morning, March 10, 2024, in a vehicle accident near Springfield, Colorado; he was 23 years old.
For those that were fortunate to have known Gavin, whether it be 15 minutes or 15 years; he was someone that you never forgot. Always willing to lend a hand on the farm, in someone’s home hanging drywall, in the Rodeo scene, volunteering as a fireman in the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department or just being a friend; Gavin made people feel special.
There will be a reception with the family at Springfield Baptist Chapel, 441 Pinon Street, Springfield, CO, Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 7-8:30 p.m.
A funeral service for Gavin will be held in the Springfield High School Gym, 475 W. 5th Ave., Springfield, CO on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the grandstands. Please note: please use the doors on the southwest corner of the Gym.

Gavin will be laid to rest in the Kim Cemetery in Kim, Colorado with a private family interment service.
