Evelyn Estep

Evelyn Gwen was born on January 26, 1946, to Jess Clyde Shields and DeLender Vaughn in Paducah Texas. Evelyn passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2018, in Pueblo, CO at the age of 71. She married and had two daughters, Nellie DeeLinda in 1965 and Christie DeAnn in 1968. She married Hobert Estep in 1991 and gained a son Shannon Estep. Together Hobert and Evelyn shared a career of truck driving. Their truck became their second home. In 2000 they were cleared to drive explosives for the government; this took their career to a whole new level. When they put their truck driving career to rest, Hobert and Evelyn started a new career of sorts as foster parents. In 2005 Hobert and Evelyn were awarded foster parents of the year in the State of Kansas. Evelyn was very caring and loved her family, foster kids, and close friends dearly. She also had pets that she loved just as much as her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Jess and DeLender, siblings Ruby McFarland, Willis Shields, Odelle Shields, and Frankie Fincher, as well as Son Shannon Estep. She is survived by her Husband Hobert “Bobby” Estep of Springfield CO, Daughters DeeLinda Anderson (Johnny Sain) of Cheney Kansas, and Christie (Steve) Taff of Johnson KS, Sister Norma Branson of Paducah Texas, 10 Grandchildren, and 10 Great Grandchildren.
