Obituary for Eugene Alan Joseph Carson "Joe" Joe Carson age 34, died December 31, 2020 following a sudden illness. Joe was born August 4, 1986 in Springfield, Colorado and was the son of the late John "Arkie" Carson and the late Etta Aletha Carson. Joe attended high school at Vilas High School until his senior year when he decided taking care of his new family was more important than school and started working at Southeast Colorado Hospital. May 28, 2005 he welcomed home his beautiful baby girl Keara Marie Carson. After Keara was born Joe followed his dreams and moved on to bigger and better things and went to work for the oil fields, a passion that he absolutely loved. However, life happens, and he found himself back in Lamar where he welcomed home Bentlee (May 14, 2014), Stormie (June 8, 2015), and Mylow (December 28, 2016.) He even gained a bonus kiddo, Logan who he considered his own son as well. His kids were his world, and he would do anything and everything to protect them. On April 18, 2017 he met the love of his life, Chasity Dawn Dixon (Cricket), and decided then that it was time to take being an adult seriously and settle down. Meeting Cricket meant welcoming 2 more kids into his life; Cheyenne (Chey) and Alexis (Lexi, or only to Joe·” TODDLES”) Penson; from day one they were "his kids. To complete their family on May 17, 2018 they added Karter Allen (Roo) Carson, he was a sudden daddy's boy and daddy's best friend. Joe and Cricket were married on November 7, 2017 at the Baca County Courthouse; Joe told Cricket "let’s go vote" and so off they went. Cricket's hair was messy and pretty sure she was wearing sweatpants and a hoodie, and Joe was in work clothes covered in grease. When they got there, Joe did not vote...instead, they went to see Penny Self where they signed the marriage license and were married. Sorry Mom and Renee! Joe was passionate about many things, his family, his kids, and his friends. He was always building something, a giant man cave made from pallets, was his favorite thing he created. Lots of good stories about that man cave and all the work that was put into it. You could always find him in the garage building something for one of the kids or for Cricket. But pretty soon, trucking was what made him the happiest. Joe got his CDL in August 2019 and began driving a truck hauling whatever he could find a job doing that allowed him to be home so he could be with Cricket and the kids. He loved to haul cattle and taking the family with him on the truck was a major highlight of his life. All the kids loved to go haul the "moo moos" with daddy even if it was crowded. Joe was a hardworking, caring, passionate man that will be missed by so many. It didn’t matter what time of day it was, if someone needed help and he was able to help, he would be there. If he could not, he was on the phone finding someone that could help. Very few times did he ask for help in return. Joe was proceeded in death by his mom and dad Etta and Arkie Carson and several good friends that were taken too soon. He is survived by Cricket, Chey, Toadles, Bentlee, Stormie, Mylow, Karter of the home, daughter Keara, bonus son Logan, mother-in-law Phyllis of Springfield; Father-in-law Johnie of Campo; sister-in-law Renee, nieces Jackie and Jaden, and nephew Jarrett of Springfield; and Byron of Abilene, Kansas. Friends Jarome, Vanessa, and Luke Simmons of Springfield; Eric Hall of Dodge City, Kansas, and TJ Whisler of Lamar; plus, many many more friends who were more like family. He is also survived by his cousin Shadow (Brent) Stone as well as many other cousins, aunts, uncles and 8 siblings. Celebration of Life will be February 20, 2021 at 2:00PM at the Minnick Building at the Baca County Fairgrounds; Springfield, CO. Honorary Pallbearers are Jarome, Vanessa and Luke Simmons, Eric Hall, TJ Whisler, and Cody Gonser; as well as all his numerous friends, cousins and family
