Ellen Myers

Ellen Rita Cordova Myers, 97, passed away on July 25, 2017 at home in Bentonville, AR. Ellen was born in Grey Creek, CO, to Marcelino and Rajitos Cordova on March 27,1920. She went to school in Hoehne, CO. Following high school graduation, Ellen followed her siblings to California. She lived & worked in the Las Angeles area for a few years, before returning to the Trinidad area where she met & married Ocie (Tun) Myers on October 26, 1946. Ellen & Tun had 7 children; Gwen, Wayne, Carroll, infant Little Ellen, Jackie, Brycel, and Leola. Ellen and Tun raised their family on the farm south of Pritchett, Co. She spent many years volunteering at school with the children and working along side Tun on the farm. Once the children finished school at Pritchett, Ellen & Tun moved to Springfield, CO, where Ellen worked at the Springfield Department Store until she retired. She moved to Bentonville, AR in 2015 where she lived with her daughters, Jackie Myers & Leola Myers Johnson and John Debo. Ellen loved to travel & preferred to travel by car so she could see the scenery. Her favorite past times were shopping, playing bingo, & simply "going”.  She would often say "Let's get out of the house and go somewhere today!" When asked where she would like to go her reply was generally "shopping!" Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Tun, infant daughter Ellen, daughter Gwen Myers Deburger, son Carroll Myers, daughter-in-law Gail Myers, one granddaughter Pam Myers Woodring, one great granddaughter Trista Wilson Clark, her parents, and 10 siblings. Ellen is survived by two sons: Wayne (Dinah) Myers & Brycel (Viola) Myers, two daughters: Jackie Myers & Leola Myers Johnson (John Debo), 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews. Ellen's strong Catholic faith and gentle soul enriched the lives of all she met. Her love for others was unconditional, generous, & accepting. The family suggests memorial contributions to be given to the "Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church" in Ellen's memory. Mail donation to O.L.A.
