Henry Darold Denney was born in Springfield Colorado on July 7, 1923, to Jonathan Glen and Cassie Barler Denney. Darold had 1 brother Dale and 1 sister Rosella. Darold joined the Air Force and serviced Radar in the Pacific Theater during World War II. In 1950 he was called back into service during the Korean War. All told, he served over 8 yrs. in the Air Force. In 1953, after his service time, Darold moved to Alaska and started working for the Federal Aviation Association maintaining repeater stations in places such as Katalla and Deadhorse, Alaska. In 1966 while living in Fairbanks, he met and married Virginia Fisher. In March of 1967 Darold Jr. was born and in December of 1968 Donald was born, and their family was complete. Darold worked for the FAA until 1979 when he retired. After retirement, Darold and Virginia moved back to Springfield to live the quiet life in the town he was born. Darold and Virginia enjoyed life in Springfield very much. Darold enjoyed working with his metal lathe, riding his golf cart around town, and attending the First Baptist Church which he and Virginia were members. Darold passed away in Springfield, Colorado at the Long Term Care Center on June 3, 2017, at the age of 93. The family that precedes Darold in death is his Father and Mother, Glen and Cassie Denney, and his Sister Rosella. Family left to mourn his passing include, Wife Virginia of Springfield, Sons Henry Jr. of Fairbanks, Alaska, Don of Anchorage, Alaska, one granddaughter Madysen as well as Brother Dale and his wife Cynthia of Las Cruses, New Mexico.
