Celebrating the Life of Barbara “ Barb” Jenkins April 25, 1962 – May 1, 2018 Barbara “ Barb” Jenkins was given the gift of life, but sadly, the time came to give it back. She was born on April 25, 1962, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, to her father, W.D. Ellis, and mother, Betty. She was a devoted mother to two boys and two daughters-in-law, was an unconditional, loving wife, to Robert Jenkins, and a faithful friend to all. She never met a stranger, and if and when she did, they weren't strangers for long. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Accepting her earthly departure is hard by those she's left behind. Barbara is survived by her husband, Robert Jenkins, of Liberal, KS, and two sons, Todd Jenkins and wife, Chelsea Jenkins of Bennett, Colorado, and Michael Bagwell and wife, Joni of Springfield, Colorado, and six grandchildren with another on the way. She is preceded in death by her father, W.D. Ellis, and mother, Betty, and step-father, George Sechrist, brothers, Billy and Michael, and granddaughter, Mercy Brae. Barb will always be remembered as a great woman who led a God-given existence. She first got sick around September 2012 and was victorious over a bout with cancer. When the illness returned last year and she became terminal, Barb decided to live joyfully rather than pout as the end drew near. Meditation on the Word of God and her Christian faith also helped her accept what she could not change. Barb departed peacefully on May 1, 2018, at 6:50 a.m. All who love her rest easy with the knowledge that she is in good hands. The Funeral Services for Barbara were held Friday, May 4 – 10:00 AM at the Campo Wesleyan Church in Campo, Colorado. Burial followed in the Campo Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Barbara’s memory can be mailed to People’s Credit Union, 125 Main St., Springfield, CO 81073. Make check payable to Robert Jenkins, MEMO: Barbara’s Memorial.
