Alvin Jenkins was Born December 14, 1932, and left this life on July 23, 2021. He was the middle child of Cecil and Alma Jenkins.

Alvin attended school in Campo, Colorado and at the age of 17, just prior to his graduating he joined the Army and was deployed to Korea.  During his time in the service, he was able to obtain his High School Diploma. After returning home from the service, he married Jane Hinds, and to this union were born two children, Lana Kay and Vincent, of which he was very proud of. Then in 1970 he met and married Gloria Campbell and they were blessed with 50 years of Marriage.

Alvin was a man of many passions, during his life he was a Salesman, Business Owner (AJ 66 Station) in Campo. He Sponsored may of the young people in their endeavors. He also was on the School Board for a number of years, he was very passionate about his Hometown and community. He was also a Farmer and Rancher and was instrumental in starting of the American Agriculture Movement along with his good friend, Eugene Schroder.

At the age of 83 he participated in a Mental Math Competition (no calculators, no pencils or paper were allowed) of which he finished in the Top 3% of all of the participants.

He loved going to and watching the Horses Race and even owned some pretty special Horses. He spent a lot of time buying and selling livestock for various people and spent many hours at the Livestock Auctions.

Alvin was very devoted to his wife and family. He touched many lives and became known by many people of all walks of life.

In May of 2018 he made the decision to accept the Lord into his life.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alma and Cecil Jenkins; brothers, Raymond, Robert and Laverne Jenkins; sisters, Arvella, Juanita, and Roberta; son-in-law, Kenneth Woods.

Survived by wife Gloria Jenkins; children, Lana Kay Woods and Vincent Jenkins and wife Teena; grandchildren, Kristin Woods, Crockett Jenkins and wife Kara, Hanna Fontaine and husband Nate, Abigail Bell and husband Rory, Caleb Jenkins, Elijah Jenkins and wife Sarah and Caitlin Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Tessa, Josiah and Haddon Jenkins; Micah, Judah, and Avalyn Fontaine.   Also survived by his brothers, Marvin Jenkins and wife Wanda and Clarence Jenkins and wife Shirley and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

Memorial donations made in Alvin's name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 1 South Nevada Avenue, Suite 205, Colorado Springs, Co. 80903 or to any preferred Children’s Hospital.
