Charlotte Wilma Alleta Horn Eiler was born in July 25, 1929 in Curtis, Oklahoma to James Albert Horn and Nellie Ruth Vanderslice Horn, she saw Jesus face to face on the morning of September 4, 2020. She had a brother James Gerald Horn, a half-sister Mildred and a half-brother Vernon “Speck” Horn.
She married Joseph Ivan Eiler on February 13, 1948 and had three children, Linda Eiler (Conley), Dewayne Eiler, and DW Eiler.
In grade school she loved to play baseball, she loved learning to paint and spent many Tuesday nights with Dona Baxter learning to paint. The pine cones…oh the pine cones. She loved to bake, sew and bless anyone she came in contact anyway she could.
Her love of Jesus and devotion to praying for those around her are legendary. She rarely missed a Sunday at Trinity Church in Springfield, unless she was with her kids or her grand-kids. Visits to Delta, Billings and Denver to spend time with her children and grandchildren were a common occurrence, many times spending months with them as she drove from place to place.
No matter what you were going through and where you were in your life you always felt loved.
Alleta taught Sunday school, and was a loving pastor’s wife in Canon City, Campo and Trinity Church in Springfield. Her children all learned musical instruments and would regularly play at church services.
She spent the majority of her adult life in Springfield, Colorado in a home that Joe remodeled for her prior to his death in 1984. She worked at Anderson’s shoe store and the cleaners in Springfield after Joe passed away. Joe and she were also property owners to many rentals throughout Springfield for many years. They would remodel properties after tenants moved out. She could float a seam with the best of them.
So many lives were brightened by her joy, love and her warm, beautiful smile. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Celebrating with her in heaven are her husband Joe Eiler, parents, siblings, and countless friends she has met along the way.
Alleta is survived by her three children and their spouses, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren
One of her favorite sayings is that “you are blessed and highly favored” and we felt that way every time we were in her presence and she would want you to know that today.
