Lawrence Arthur Alberti was born on June 21, 1929 in Springfield, Colorado. Except for his time in the miliitary service he lived his entire life in Springfield. He passed away on November 21, 2010 at the age of 81. "Buddy" or "Judge" as he was also known as, married Helen Carla Bowling in December of 1950. She was the love of his life, they were married for 48 years until she passed away in August of 1998. Buddy and Helen had one daughter, Carla Annette Alberti. Buddy was in the US Army from January 30, 1951 to February 6, 1953 serving in Korea. He was awarded the United Nations Service Metal and the Korean Servive Metal and two bronze stars. Buddy was a brick layer and stone mason for most of his life, he learned the trade from his father. His work can be seen all over Baca County and he also worked on projects in Kansas and Oklahoma. Buddy grew up with two loving sisters, Anna Mary and Nellie Ruth and one brother Stanley. Family was one of the most important things in his life and he also cared deeply for Helen's sister, Betty and two brothers Joe and Tommy along with all of their families. He was very close to his only daughtere Caarla and her three sons Victor, Brian and Michael. He was also very happy to meet Brenna earlier this year. He is still waiting for great grandchildren. Buddy spent his life taking care of every one. Buddy loved to fish and hunt. He spent many hours "drowning worms." Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur Edwin Alberti and Nola May Baker, his wife, Helen, sister, Anna Mary Johnstone, sister-in-law, Betty Harmon, and brother-in-law Joe Bowling. He is survived by by his daughter; Carla Thompson of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, grand sons; Victor Thompson of Aurora, CO, Brian Thompson and Michael Thompson and Brenna of Rancho Santa Maragrita, CA, sister and brother-in-law, Nelli Ruth and Charles Jett of Pueblo, CO, brother and sister-in-law, Stan and Irma Alberti of Springfield, CO, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tommy and Daisy Bowling of Oklahoma City, OK, sister-in-law, Mary Bowling of Moore, OK, nieces and nephews; Janelle Hall and family of Pueblo, CO, Ranola Simms and family of Texas, Allen Alberti and family of Sprngfield, Co, David Alberit and family of Springfield, CO, Stana Laughter amd family of Lamar, CO, Carla Smith and family of Oklahoma, Brenda Price and family of Oklahoma, Mary Joe Armstrong and family of Oklahoma, La Donna Smallwood and family of Oklahoma, and Tresa Robinson and family of Oklahoma.
