Sherrill Lynn (Dunlap) Brown, faithful and devoted wife and loving mother was born July 25, 1951. A resident of Springfield, Colorado, Sherill went into the presence of the Lord on April 30, 2010 at the Medical Center of Aurora with complications following routine surgery ending in heart failure.
Sherrill was born in Lamar, Colorado to the parents of Roscoe Eugene and Eva Mae Dunlap, with two sisters, Janice Jesser and Beverly Rutledge; and brother Robert Dunlap.
Sherrill attended Springfield schools from elementary through high school and continued her education at Denver Baptist Bible College, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in church education in 1973. During those college years she met and eventually married Dale Brown on July 8, 1972, a marriage lasting a lifetime of 37 years in all.
Sherrill found great satisfaction in reading, gardening her flowers, music and giving piano lessons after taking piano lessons at a very young age from her grandmother. She enjoyed collecting Boyd's Bears, tea cups, decorative bells and shoes (at least that is what Dale thought). Sherrills' service in church included playing the organ, a mission trip to Mexico, childrens' ministries (Patch the Pirate club-20 years), Sunday school teacher for 4-5 year olds, for 29 years, singing in the choir, accompanying the choir, teaching Vacation Bible School and counseling ladies in the church.
Sherrill was preceded in death by her father, Gene Dunlap, and daughter, Tami Lynn Brown.
She is survived by her mother, Eva Dunlap; husband, Dale Brown; children, Traci (James) Hyden; Trisha Brown; Trena (Landry) Homsher; grandchildren, Kaylynn, Jordan and Leanne Hyden and Shiloh and Karis Homsher; siblings, Janice (Jim) Jesser of Olathe, Colorado; Beverly (Tom) Rutledge of Grand Junction,Colorado; and Robert (Debbie) Dunlap of Springfield. She also has many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
