Marjorie E. DeThample was born December 1, 1918 in Claflin, Kansas to Millie "Rumsey" and David Vestal. She married her first love Edward DeThample. They lived in Ellinwood, Kansas and Colorado Springs, Colorado before moving to Springfield, Colorado. They owned the City Liquor Store on Main Street in Springfield for many years.
Due to her afflictions later in life, she was confined to her home most of the time, but she kept alert and informed by her many telephone buddies. She loved listening to her scanner, watching sports on TV, and her cats.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Eddie DeThample, her parents Dave and Millie Vestal, a brother Harold Vestal, and two sisters Iris Strube and Thelda Sigler.
She is servived by a sister Rave'y Haas and a brither-in-law John Haas of Davidsonville, MD., and two nephews Dick and Butch Dreiling of Kansas City, Kansas.
A Memoral Fund has been set up in memory of Marjorie at the Colorado East Bank and Trust. The funds will go to the Southeast Colorado Hospital and the Long Term Care Center in Springfield, Colorado.
