Georgia E Miller

Georgia Miller was born to Milton and Gertrude Hillier on December 14, 1911 in Fulton, Kansas. She departed this life peacefully with friends by her side on March 23, 2009 at Southeast Colorado Hospital in Springfield, Colorado. Georgie is preceded in death by Oscar Miller, her husband and two sons, Ronnie and Richard; her parents Milton and Gertrude Hillier; and one sister Lois Popejoy. She is survived by a sister, Betty Means of Overland Park, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends. Georgie grew up on the rolling hills of the prairie in Kansas. She loved her country school and enjoyed the companionship of her dog and horses. Georgie lead an active adult life; nurturing her family and friends. Her young son Ronnie was her sunshine. She was a wonderful cook, gardener and hostess. In her travels, Georgie enjoyed adding to her beautiful collections. She always enjoyed entertaining many friends and was always greeting a new one with her warm sweet smile. The day always started with hundreds of birds singing and chirping in her trees. Georgie treasured her visits and phone calls from family, care-givers and friends. Her spirit stayed young through her interest in others and avid reading. Georgie was a loving wife, mother and caring friend. She will be missed by all. Services for Georgia Miller were held on Friday, March 27, 2009 with Ron Porter officiating. Music was provided by Eltha Lynn Leimkuhler. Casket bearers included Woody Miller, Hal Patchen, Charles Turner, Gordon Turner, Thomas Turner, and Don Wood. Honorary bearers included John Baker, Mickey Bohlander, Les Gentzler, Shirley Gunkel, Gary Hanna, Wayne Hetrick, Herb Homsher, and Leslie Horn Interment was held at Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, Colorado with music provided by Sandi Bryan. Rich Funeral home was entrusted with the arrangements.
