Howard Glenn Lusk was born the fourth of ten children to Rhual Earnest and Ruth Ann (Nelson) Lusk in Barry County, Missouri on October 18, 1918 and departed this life at the age of 96, on May 5, 2015 at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado.
His first five years of elementary education were at the Plymell school south of Garden City, Kansas. When he was eleven, he and his family moved to Springfield, Colorado. He finished his education in Springfield, graduating with the class of 1937.
Howard was married to Willie Mourine Ernestine Henson on September 13, 1940. Four sons were born to this Union: Uel Kelly, Rhual Reginold, Truel Quizy, and Newl Trexy.
Howard held various jobs until he was hired by Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway. He was an agent telegrapher and retired from the Santa Fe after 35 years.
He was saved and baptized during a revival meeting in Hanston, Kansas in the 1950's.
He enjoyed pigeons and playing pool.
Howard spent his remaining years living in Springfield, Colorado.
Howard is survived by his four sons: Kelly; Reggy and wife, Bonnie; Quizy and wife, Linda, all of Springfield; Trex and wife, Teresa, of Hutchinson, Kansas; eight grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, four great, great grandchildren, one sister, Betty and husband Dean Cook of Walsh, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Howard is preceded in death by his wife, Willie, his father and mother, his brother, Orville, twin brothers, Burl and Burris, quadruplet brothers, Murl, Earl, Everett, and Earnest and his sister, Kathlene.
The Howard Lusk memorial fund has been established at the People’s Credit Union in Springfield for those who wish to express their sympathy in lieu of flowers.
