Violet E. Chadwick (Weber) was born to Rufus and Jessie Chadwick on August 25, 1918 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 14, 2015 in Springfield CO. Violet was the third of five children. At a young age her mother passed away. Her father along with his five children moved to Utleyville Colorado. Each morning Violet would pack her lunch and ride her horse several miles to the Sunderland School. Her last two years of High School she moved to Pritchett and stayed with Maude Burks. Violet graduated from Pritchett High School in 1937. The following year she attended Amarillo Business College. Upon completion of school she moved to Long Beach California because of a very special guy. Violet worked in the airplane factory until she married.
On December 8, 1944 she married Jim Weber. They continued to live in California until early 1947 at which time they moved back to Pritchett. To this union two children were born. Richard Leroy in 1946, who now lives in Missouri and has two sons Jack and David and Shirley in 1947, who now lives in Walsh CO with husband Richard and has two daughters Melissa and Heather.
In December 1982 Jim had a heart attack and in March of 1983 he passed away. Violet decided she couldn’t just sit at home, so in September of 1983 she began working in housekeeping at the Long Term Care Center in Springfield where she continued until retiring in the late 1990s.
Violet loved to sew, crochet or work in her yard. For many years she sewed for the public. She dearly loved to sew and show her granddaughters how to sew and cook.
After retiring, in her spare time, you could find Violet and her friends attending all the Senior Citizen dances anywhere within 100 miles. Violet had a lot of friends, but two very special ones Phronia Birt and Louellen McVey. If either one said lets go, she was ready.
As time passed her mind started failing, so in November 2007 she entered the nursing home in Springfield. Violet was content there, always saying they were good to her and the food was good. She stayed busy telling the house keeper how to clean.
Over the years she conquered cancer twice and spent five weeks in the hospital after gall bladder surgery. When she entered the hospital on January 7, 2015 she just couldn’t win this one. On January 14 Violet passed away very peaceful.
Violet was preceded in death by her Parents Rufus and Jessie, Brothers Frank and J.R. Chadwick, Sisters Modest Lane and Ollie Mae Janeski, Husband Jim and one great -great granddaughter Navaeh McKinley, as well as her in-laws Ross (Nannie) Weber.
