Mary "Ruthie" Ruth Schmidt

Baca County resident “Ruthie” Schmidt passed away Saturday November 15th at Swedish Medical Center at the age of 49. Funeral services will be held Friday November 21, 2:00 PM at the Springfield High School Gym 475 West 5th. Burial will follow in the Springfield Cemetery. Community visitation will be on Thursday November 20 from 5:00-7:00PM at Maltbie Funeral Services- 265 West 8th Ave. in Springfield. Ruthie is survived by husband Kent Schmidt, Son Eric Schmidt, Son Skyler (Elaina) Piper, Son Heath (Jacia) Piper, Son Ray Schmidt & Sheila Aldrich, Son Jace (Natalie) Piper, Daughter Jennifer Schmidt & Colton Corpman, and Daughter Adria Schmidt. Grandchildren- Baylee, Skylar, Mollie, Logan, Addison, Breanna, Javyne, Thomas, Daniel, Aven, Tino, and Alex. She is also survived by her parents Carol and Fran Sheppard, Brother Brian (Janet) Sheppard, Sister LaDonna Shepphard, and Sister Samantha (Aric) Eichhorn as well as numerous nephews and nieces. In Lieu of flowers the “Ruthie Schmidt” memorial fund has been established at People’s Credit Union in Springfield for those who wish to contribute.
