Charolette Annabel Lasley passed away on November 9, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs Colorado, surrounded by her loving family. She was 66 years old. Charolette was born on June 12, 1948, to her parents, Andy and Mary Ellen Drennan and grew up and lived in Baca County her entire life. Charlotte was married to her first husband, Harvey Birt, and lived on a farm and ranch south of Pritchett. Later she was married to Gary Watkins, and to this union three children were born, Andy, Wesley and Amy. She was then married to her devoted husband, Robert Lasley, who loved her, her children and grand-children very much. Charolette was caring, compassionate, and giving person. She would take in youth who had no other place to go. Due to the passing of her parents at a young age, Uncle Roy and Aunt Virginia Findley became her “Daddy and Momma”, along with their eight children being “Brother and Sis”. Charolette was employed by Jenkins Pilot Car Service flagging wide loads across the US. She loved driving, seeing the countryside, meeting new people and seeing relatives along the way. Clarence and Shirley Jenkins were very dear to her heart and she loved them like family. Charolette is survived by her husband Robert Lasley, of Springfield, CO, her children Andy, Wes, Amy and several grandchildren, her sister Rose Mary, niece Rose Ann and nephew Gerald Dean (Jake) of Vernal, Utah. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Mary Ellen Drennan, her ex-husband Harvey Birt, and Uncle Roy Findley. Funeral services were held at Maltbie Funeral Services in Springfield, Colorado on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 2:00pm. Burial was held at the Springfield Cemetery. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The “Charolette Lasley” memorial fund has been established at the Colorado East Bank and Trust for those who wish to contribute towards funeral expenses.
