Susie M. Isenhower Cranford was born June 22, 1918 and went to be with her Lord and Savior September 2, 2014 at the age of 96 years, 3 months, 10 days. Susie was born Near Tecumseh, OK the third child of Harvey W. and Aletha Isenhower. Growing up in a farming community she developed a love of the outdoors, helping her dad with farming and the animals. Susie married Fred Cranford, Feb 2, 1935 making their home in the same farming community until 1949. Due to Susie’s severe health condition they moved to Springfield, Colorado with their son Richard and daughter Lula. Susie loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, seamstress, gardener, cook, quilter (teaching many how to quilt), fisherwoman and helping others. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness church in Springfield serving as Sunday School superintendent for over 20 years, taught children’s classes, active in women’s meetings, taking children to camp and being a camp cook, plus any other way she could serve the church and her God. The past 15 plus years she was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Springfield, faithfully attending until moving to the Morton County Care Center at Elkhart, KS in 2008. As long as she was able she attended the church services at the Care Center especially loving the singing of the old hymns. Susie organized the Good Samaritan Club which studied the bible every week. Susie was preceded in death by her father Harvey Isenhower; mother Sarah Aletha Little Isenhower, sisters Sarah McMahan and Mildred Isenhower, Brother Howard Isenhower Granddaughter Markita Bishop and the love of her life- husband Fred Cranford. She is survived by son Richard Cranford and wife Jo of Forgan OK, daughter Lula Patterson and husband Pat of Amarillo TX, nine grandchildren, Richard Cranford, Danneva Eddleman, Carrie Woods, Lynn Patterson, Dale Starr, Carol Nichols, Cheri Dorsey, Cathy Meyers and Brian Starr, 23 Great grandchildren, 26 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many friends who loved her deeply. Rev. 2:10 “Be thou faithful until death and I will give thee a crown of live.” Susie now has eternal live with Jesus Christ her savior. She has “Fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” II Tim 4:7
