Carlos Eugene Crane

Carlos Eugene Crane, age 68, a life long resident of Springfield, Colorado lost his battlewith Lewy Body Dementia on June 29, 2014 in Dallas, Texas surrounded by family andfriends. Born December 14, 1945 in Springfield, Colorado to Willie and Euna PearlCrane. Carlos attended Springfield Schools graduating in 1963. He attended LamarCommunity College and chose a lifetime career in the family farm and ranch. Carloswas a partner in the family farm and ranch for over 43 years. He was the founder andowner of Crane Irrigation Company and took great pride in the irrigation business. Hewas well known in the Tri-State area for his expertise and workmanship ensuringfarmers, ranchers and towns had water for their crops, livestock and communities.Carlos was a hands-on business owner and never asked anyone to do something hehad not done himself. Carlos was involved with the community and served on the areaConservation Board, Campo Grazing Association and served as member and Presidentof Farm Credit for 20 years.He is survived by his wife Jane Crane; daughter Stephanie (Bruce) Hecht andgranddaughters Madeline, Elizabeth and Catherine of Dallas, Texas; son Bryan (Amy)Crane and granddaughter Emma of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Surviving siblings MelbaJane (Ray) Melser, Jim (Karla) Crane, Gale (Deana) Crane, Merna (Vic) McGinnis,Lyndon (Lisa) Crane and numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Wednesday, July 2, from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Rich’s Funeral Home, 265West 8th Avenue, Springfield, Colorado 81073. A memorial service will be heldThursday, July 3, at 10:00am at Springfield Baptist Chapel, 441 Pinion Street,Springfield, Colorado 81073. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor ofCarlos Crane at Colorado East Bank and Trust, Springfield, Colorado. All donationswill be presented to the Trailblazers - Lewy Body support group.
