Carl James Blundell Jr.

Carl James Blundell, 86, departed this life May 25, 2014 at The Cottage in Springfield Colorado. Carl was born December 27, 1927, the oldest child of James Marion and Mamie Laura (Smart) Blundell in Irving Canyon, Las Animas County, Colorado. Carl is survived by sisters, Rene Ede of Springfield, Colorado, Loretta Bohlander of Springfield, Colorado, brothers, Vernon (Diana) Blundell of Dodge City, Kansas, Larry (Patsy) Blundell of Las Animas, Colorado, Rex (Connie) Blundell of Springfield, Colorado, sister-in-law Anita Blundell of Ulysses, Kansas, Brother-in-law Mick Bohlander of Springfield, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Alvin Blundell, niece Carla Bohlander and brother-in-law Hank Ede. Carl spent most of his life living in the cedars, chopping posts and helping family on the ranch. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to “The Cottage”, 373 East 10th, Springfield, CO 81073. Services will be held on the ranch at a later date.
