Lyman John Callahan

Lyman John Callahan born November 12, 1914 to Porter Jack and Nellie Dean (Callihan) Callahan at home in Beaver County, OK. Lyman is the second of nine children. His siblings: Mildred Marie (Robert White), Lois Lee (Max Hume), Mary Alice (Jake Broyles), Porter Jack Jr., Charles Ross, Alvin Wayne (Norma Torrence), Patricia Dean (Paul Giurlani), and John Leroy. Lyman married Vela Elouise Tague on August 19, 1944 in Sioux Falls, SD. Through the years they became Mother and Father to 7 children: Gloria Jean, Michael Shea, Riley Hugh, Terrence Lee, Clarissa Dean, Ann-Alea, and Lyman John II. Lyman departed this life on May 11, 2013 in Springfield with family near him at the age of 98 ½ years. He will now join in heaven his parents, wife, siblings Mildred, Lois, Mary Alice, Porter Jack Jr., Charles Ross, Wayne, and Johnny. Children Gloria, Mike, and Terry; granddaughter Tiffany; and great grandson Darrett, along with other family and friends who have taken the journey before him. He is survived by sister Patricia Guirlani of Jackson, CA; Children: Riley (Judy) of Rawlins, WY; Clarissa (Justin) Shaffer of Cave Creek, AZ; Ann-Alea (Brad) Ratliff of Springfield, CO; Lyman John II of Springfield, CO; 19 Grandchildren; 33 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Darrett Dean Lapel Scholarship Fund established at the Colorado East Bank and Trust.
