Anna Mae Wade, the daughter of Phillip Franklin Bartholomeuw Cummings and Edna Blyeu Cummings, was born September 24, 1932 at Walnut Shade Missouri and delivered by a midwife. She passed away September 10, 2012 in Springfield at the Long Term Care Center where she resided for the past 15 years. She was 79. Anna helped her family by working while attending high school in Branson Missouri. She did not graduate from high school but instead came to Springfield Colorado where she thought she could make more money to send home. She ended up working for Lowell F. Wade at the Hilltop café and they were later married February 23, 1952. They had 7 children, Linda Mae, Violet “sissie”, Lowell Macky, Anna Louise, Elsa Fern, Loyal James, and Dennis Ray. Anna’s hobbies were cooking, watching her grandchildren grow up and hunting arrowheads. She had a unique nickname for all her grandkids. She and Lowell liked going fishing after he retired from farming. She was the best cook ever! Anna worked at Cimarron Memorial Hospital as an assistant cook. She also worked at the Boise City School as cook and also at Boise City Senior Citizens as head cook after Lowell retired from farming. After 31 years of marriage, they moved to Boise City to be nearer to their children and grandchildren. Lowell passed away March 11, 2002, they were married for 50 years. She was a member of the Boise City Christian Church. She is survived by 1 daughter Elsa (Robert W.) Bocock of Boise City OK, 2 sons Loyal James (Jan) of Boise City OK, Dennis Ray (Dottie) of Cherokee OK, 1 sister Iva Moore Folck of Branson MO, 3 brothers Dallas Dean Cummings of Branson MO, Eugene (Mina Lou) Cummings of Walnut Shade MO, Russell (Doloris) Cummings of Nixa MO, Sister-in-laws Georgine Cummings, Helen Cummings, Flo Cummings and Goldie Cummings. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren whom she loved very much. Anna was preceded in death by her husband Lowell, parents Phillip and Edna Cummings, 5 brothers Melvin, Milo, Dewey, Phillip Jr., and Mack; 1 sister Mary Alice, 3 daughters Linda, Violet “sissie”, and Anna Louise; 1 son Lowell Macky; 1 sister-in-law Jean Cummings Johnson; 2 brother-in-laws Bert Moore, and Wes Folck as well as 1 son-in-law Vernon Ellis. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Southeast Colorado Long Term Care Center 373 E. 10th Ave. Springfield, CO 81073
