Service for Vernon Eckerdt will be Monday September 3, 2012 at 2:00 am in the Chapel at Maltbie Funeral Services; 265 West 8th Ave in Springfield CO. Vernon passed away Thursday August 30 at the age of 76. Vernon is survived by his wife Rita Eckerdt of Pritchett,CO; Son Gary and Mary Lou Eckerdt of Rockport TX; Son Royce Eckerdt of Arizona; Step Daughter Tina Davis of Springfield; Step son Rodney and Brenda Barker of Penrose, CO; Step daughter Penny and Mario Wells of Gunnison, CO; Daughter in law Darnia McMullen of Alamosa, CO; Sister Carol and Bob Grasmick of Rocky ford, CO; Sister Claris and Lyn Chesler of Denver, CO; 15 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents Manual and Lydia Eckerdt of La Junta, CO; Son Monte; and Step Son Rusty Barker. Interment will be in the Pritchett Cemetery.
