Patsy was one of the Goffs, even though she never had the last name of Goff. She was one of us in every way. Patsy was mother's second daughter and one of our big sisters. When we first moved to Springfield, people would ask if we got along with our half-sisters. We didn't know what that meant-they were our sisters. We didn't know any different.Patsy was our "rock". If you needed to talk to her she was always there. She was a strong person who met many hurdles in her life. She raised a daughter by herself. That little girl turned into a wonderful person just like her mom.Patsy was a hard working wonderful lady. If ever you needed to get stuff off your chest, she was the best listener. She would tell you what she thought and to tell you to keep your head up. We're going to miss this wonderful sister, mother and friend. When she was happy everyone shared her happiness, when she was sad no one knew. She was an emotionally strong person with strong family values. Patsy's daughter Traci was her passion that fueled her strength.
My sister, my best friend-we laughed often, we fought like sisters and usually over nothing but we often made up sharing a good laugh because of her strength I overlooked my weaknesses.
Patsy was a wonderful gracious person. She was kind, loving, thoughtful, and beautiful. She had a kind word for everyone- whether she knew you for a while or just met you. She worked hard, enjoyed her personal, private life but always made time for her family. She was strong and had a shoulder for anyone who needed it.
You were the most caring laid back aunt ever. I miss your smiling face so much. You have been chosen to join Grandma and Grandpa and others who have passed before you. Tell them we all said “hi” and I will see you in a while. I love you with all my heart.
Dearest Patsy, you were the best Aunt ever and I will miss you but will see you and grandpa and grandma someday. You will forever be in our hearts. I’m going to miss your pretty smile. Rest in Peace. Love and miss you.
Aunt Patsy, you were the most caring, kind hearted special women I have ever known. I have the special privilege of having you as my aunt. I am going to miss you, but I know that you are in a better place and you are with Grandpa and Grandma and looking over us. We love you beautiful lady pretty lady Patsy. You were my inspiration for continuing on this long and hard road as a single parent. You kept me believing that things were the way they were supposed to be. I will hold you close to my heart and mind through every step and stair of my journey. Thank you for your great smile and open heart, for never judging, we will always love you.
Patsy, you had the prettiest smile in the world. I know I’ll miss that the most. I used to love to try and guess your age. It was always so hard to tell because you always looked so young. I’ll always remember you as a very independent person and classy lady. Thank you for always being a part of all our lives.
You listened; you shared your love unconditionally. Thank you for listening to me and holding me. My nearest and dearest Patsy- I will miss you and know I will never be the same. God Speed.
Back in the day, our mom used to send Denise on dates with Patsy.
One of Doug’s first memories of Patsy was when he asked her to dance and she said she wasn’t interested but her sister might be. That was about 44 years ago.
I remember many years ago when Patsy was racing her sister Cindy to Mom and Dad’s house on Hill Street and Patsy was driving with bad breaks and she took the corner too fast in her ’58 Pontiac and her passenger door flew open. Patsy reached to close the door; the car jumped the curve, ran over a tree and struck the corner of our neighbor’s house. Patsy fell out of the car and rolled to the ground. She was uninjured. The tree survived but the house didn’t. The car didn’t fair too well either.
I also heard about this one trip that Patsy and Cindy took to see Doug and Dorothy in Monte Vista. Dad had helped the girls secure the luggage to the car. Patsy with her lovely curlers on pulled up to the 4 seasons and the bell hop jumped out and met them at the car and untied the luggage from the luggage rack. Embarrassed, Patsy darted into the hotel, ran to the room and was never to be seen again that evening.
Fishing- Patsy loved to fish. Several years ago Traci and Patsy took a trip to Eleven Mile reservoir. Patsy wanted to get a breath of fresh air and take in the scenic beauty of the Colorado sky and a beautiful mountain reservoir. Patsy stepped out of the car and onto a large rock overseeing the water. Patsy found herself standing on a slippery rock on moment and her body sliding into the cold water the next. She spent the rest of the day trying to get warm and dry.
We’re all going to miss Patsy, her wonderful smile, her incredible sense of humor, and most of all a mother, sister, and a special member of our family. Patsy is gone but she will never be forgotten.
