Delmar F. Johnson passed from this world on August 27th, 2011 at the age of 96. He was born July 2 1915 to Fred and Florence Johnson on the family farm 5 miles east of Campo Colorado. The 1st of four brothers.He was a graduate of the 1932 class of Springfield High School. He farmed the family farm with his two younger brothers Ken and Ben until 1935 when he became a member of the Civilian Service unit known as the CCC Camps. In 1936 he married Anna Lee Durham. To this union were born five children. Elsie E. November 1938, Delma L. August 1943, Warren (Rich) August 1948, Thomas S. January 1950 and Joe M. October 1955. After time served in the CCC Camps Delmar and Ann Lee came back to the family farm and again farmed with his brothers. During this time he also worked with the US Government Soil Conservaion Service and owned the CO-OP in Campo. When the S.C.S was taken over by the U.S. Forest Service he began a new work life. He moved to Fort Collins CO, Custer SD, Sheridan Wy, and then to the main office in Denver. He retired in 1976 and moved back to the family farm in Campo.Anna Lee's health began to change so they moved to Springfield on Bonair where Delmar lived until his demise. Delmar was a life member of the Masonic Order and Shriners.Delmar was preceded in death by a baby brother, his father Fred, mother Florence, wife Anna Lee, brother Kenneth, son Rich, daughter Delma, sister-in-law Ada Bishop, grandson Donald Posey and son-in-law Max Jordan. Delmar is survived by daughter Elsie Jordan, sons Thomas (Sylvia), Joe (Becky), daughter-in-law Lee Ann, sister-in-law Charlene Johnson and brother Ben (Mary). 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren as well as many neices, nephews, and family members.
