Bruce Dean Beatty

Bruce was born September 13, 1954 in Boulder, Colorado, and unexpectedly departed ths life August 17, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona. He grew up and went to school in Fort Collins, Colorado graduating in 1992 from Poudre High School. He loved sports and participated in basketball, baseball, tennis, making many life long friends. He learned to play golf when he was 12 years old and remained an avid fan of the sport until his death. Life was an adventure for Bruce. After graduation he attended college; skied on the ski team and ski partol in Steamboat Springs, Colorado; worked for Hewlett Packard in Fort Collins and California then moved to Tucson, Arizona to be involved in golf on many levels from working at golf courses to golf retail sales and relished every minute, playing as often as possible. While in California he was married a short time to Leanne. Bruce was a kind and loving man, a complete success at being a son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He loved his family and friends and brought joy to those around him for he was so much a part of us. In time we'll be able to put him in a different place in our lives. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Peg and Dick Frey of Scottsbluff, NE; step-mother, Mary Beatty of Maricopa, AZ; sister, Lila (Jim) Gronau of Mesquite, TX; step-sister, Judy (Rick) Keller of Scottsbluff, NE; step-brothers, Wendell Frey of Alameda, CA, Bob (Lisa) Regan and Mike (Tammy) Regan of Greely, CO; 4 nieces, 4 nephews, 4 great-nieces and 7 great-nephews; Uncle Alan Beatty of Fort Collins, CO; special friends, Carol Bove and Don Dietz of Fort Collins, CO and a host of cousins and many friends. Preceding him in death his father, Jim Beatty; maternal and fraternal grandparents; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation has taken place and interment in the family plot in the Springfield Cemetery in Springfield, Colorado. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Collins, CO at 2:00 p.m, Saturday, September 24, 2011.
