Ronald Everett Lacy was born November 11, 1923, to Frank Ellis Lacy and Mary Alice Thompson Lacy, in Hays, Kansas. He lived in rual Baca County than back to Hays, KS, and later in Prowers County, south of Granada, CO. His mother passed away when he was 17, this was a vry difficult time for him. The family than moved into Springfield, CO where he finished high school. He enlisted in the Army Air Force in February 1944. After training he was stationed in Bungay, England and flew 15 bombing missions over Germany, as a waist gunner on the B-24 Bomber. He was on the last two missions before Germany surrendered and enjoyed telling us he won the war! The crew he was with was sent home immediately to train on a different plane before being sent to Japan, but the war in Japan ended and he did not get to go to Japan. He was honorably discharged in April, 1946. After returning home he worked at several different jobs. Ronald and Lois Grover were married on May 23, 1948, in Springfield. In the spring of 1949 Ronald began working for Clevo Stalnaker and they moved to Clevo's farm northeast of Sprngfield. While living on the Stalnaker farm, Don, Vernon, Eva and Carol were born to Ronald and Lois. Ronald felt the Lord wanted him to go to the Baptist Bible College in Denver, so in the fall of 1953 the family moved to the Denver area and Ronald enrolled in the Baptist Bible College. Ronda and Jaenie were born while Ronald was in college. Ronald graduated from college in 1957 and they spent a short time in San Antonio, NM, and then returned to Springfield. The Lord allowed them to live in a farm and ranch which was an ideal place to raise their family. They enjoyed fellowshipping with the folks in First Baptist Chruch again where Ronald served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. In 1969 they moved back to the Denver area so their daughters could attend Silver State High School. When the children had all finished high school, Ronald and Lois moved back to Springfield and were able to travel to all the states visiting the capitol buildings. Ronald loved to travel. They were able to visit most of the provinces in Canada and all the states in Mexico. In 1977 Ronald and Lois began traveling to Mexico each winter to work with Lance and Sylvia Holmes, missionaries to Oaxaca, Mexico. Ronald helped in building two churches, doing a lot of welding and helping in any way he could. Later Ronald delivered RV trailers from factories all over the U.S. Ronald's health began to fail and he was unable to drive. Ronald accepted the Lord as his Savior when he was 11 years old. He has been a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. After his Lord and Savior, his family was the most important thing in his life. He went home to be with his Lord on July 25, 2011, at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn his passing, Lois, his wife of 63 years.
