He spent many years working with his father and brothers doing custom farming and building fence for Government Grazing, Associates in Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma. Carroll drove truick for Robertson Trucking in Elkhart, Kansas for around 5 years. He then went into custom mowing for the State and Railroad with his brother, Brycel and his father "Tun". Carroll worked for Baca County at Pritchett and Campo since June 1999 to the present. Carroll married Gail Burdick on May 1st, 1981. Carroll moved Gail and her children, Shawn and Donnie to Springfield. He loved having his own family. From the day he married Gail, Shawn and Donnie became "His " kids. Carroll was blessed with 3 granddaughters Breanna Hendricks, Madison Burdick and Kelly Burdick; one grandson Jacob Burdick. The grandkids were the light of his life. Carroll was a big part of his nieces and nephews lives also. "Uncle Carroll" was always holding the babies and playing with all the kids. He was there for every step of their lives from learning to ride a bike, playng ball and teaching them to play pool. He was always their biggest buyer for all the fund raisers, he could never say "no". From a brother's and sister's point of view we couldn't ask for a more caring and loving brother. Carroll was there for each of us at the drop of a hat. If it wasn't physically unloading something or a financial need he was always there. You couldn't ask for a better listener and he never judged anyone. Carroll always stayed close to his parents. When his father went to the nursing home Carroll made sure he went everyday to see him and took "Tun" out as much as possible. Carroll was "Granny's" guardian angle. He took care of her yard, car and any other thing she ever needed. He never had a Bar B.Q. that whe wasn't a part of. Carroll never knew a stanger. If he saw someone new in town he always made a point to go talk to them and welcome them. Carroll will be so very missed by his family and hundreds of friends.
